Supported Independent Living (SIL)
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is one of the most common forms of NDIS accommodation funding. It covers the support and supervision provided to participants while living in a shared or individual setting — enabling them to live as independently as possible.
SIL is about the people, not the house. Amicare Assist provides skilled support workers who assist with daily tasks, personal care, and building life skills — allowing you to thrive in your home environment.
Shared & Individual Living
Support available in shared accommodation with housemates or in your own individual home setting.
Overnight & 24/7 Support

Enquire about SILSpecialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) refers to purpose-built or significantly modified housing designed for NDIS participants with very high support needs or extreme functional impairment. SDA funding covers the home itself — not the support delivered within it.
Amicare Assist works with participants to navigate SDA eligibility, understand design categories, and connect SDA housing with the right SIL supports to create a complete living solution in Central Victoria.
Purpose-Built Environments
Homes designed with accessibility features like wider doorways, ceiling hoists, reinforced walls, and emergency power systems.
Four SDA Design Categories
Improved Liveability, Fully Accessible, Robust, and High Physical Support — matched to your assessed functional needs.
Combined with SIL
SDA provides the specialist home; SIL provides the people. We can coordinate both to create a seamless living arrangement.
Eligibility Navigation
We help you understand SDA eligibility requirements and work with your planner to have SDA included in your NDIS plan.

Enquire about SDAShort-Term Accommodation (STA) — Respite
Short-Term Accommodation (STA), also known as respite, provides a temporary supported living arrangement for NDIS participants — giving both participants and their informal carers a planned break while ensuring quality care continues uninterrupted.
STA is an NDIS-funded support that can be used for up to 14 days at a time throughout the year. It’s an opportunity to experience new environments, build independence, and give families a well-deserved rest.
Planned Carer Respite
Scheduled short stays that give participants and their carers a meaningful break and time to recharge and reconnect.
Flexible Scheduling
STA can be planned across the year — weekends, school holidays, or specific dates that work for your family and schedule.
Safe, Fully Supported Environment
Skilled staff provide all necessary personal care, activities, and support throughout the duration of your stay.
Enriching Goal-Aligned Activities
Stays incorporate activities that align with participant goals, interests, and NDIS plan outcomes — not just passive care.

- Ideal for planned carer respite

- Bookable in advance across the year

Enquire about STAMedium-Term Accommodation (MTA)
Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA) is a transitional housing solution for NDIS participants who need a supported place to stay while waiting for their long-term housing to become available — for example, while an SDA property or SIL arrangement is being finalised.
MTA bridges the gap — ensuring participants have stable, supported accommodation during what can otherwise be an uncertain transitional period, for up to 90 days at a time.
Transitional Housing Bridge
Stable, supported accommodation while you wait for your permanent SDA or SIL arrangement to be confirmed and ready.
Up to 90 Days
MTA funding can be used for up to 90 days — providing adequate time for long-term housing solutions to be properly arranged.
Fully Supported Stay
Accommodation costs are covered by MTA funding; your existing NDIS support services continue alongside the placement.
Coordinated Transition
We work closely with your Support Coordinator to plan a smooth, stress-free handover from MTA into your permanent home.
